While glancing at the MOS rundown, did you ever wish you could see the XPression Channel Name as part of the MOS Abstract (blob of text where a MOS object has been dragged)? Well, now the XPression Administrator can configure the channel name, from within the XPression Gateway configuration menus; as part of the MOS Abstract for XPression items dragged into the rundown. A great visual confirmation of what channel that graphic is expected to be played out from.

MOS 118 - XPression MOS Editor Replaceable Asset Field Indicator

Sometimes, filling in a form can be an intimidating experience, especially if you don’t know what the right answer is. We know that feeling, so we tried to help out a little bit. On the XPression MOS Editor, fields which should be populated with replaceable assets like still or video assets now have a logo next to the field label to help users identify what content goes into those fields. MOS 122 - New Icons for the XPression MOS Editor Local Asset Browser Buttons

Sometimes, embedded knowledge can lead to career advancement, but leave a void for the next person. I mean, who doesn’t know which button labelled … is for still images and which button labeled … is for videos? Right?  …well, we decided to put icons on them.
So, if you use a local asset browser for content going into XPression MOS template replaceable asset fields, now you know what button to click on, for still images. Everyone will, as long as you share this video with your bosses and get them to upgrade to the latest version of the XPression software.

MOS 124 - Protecting the XPression MOS Editor Channel and Layer Assignments

Hopefully, the graphics team and the Director have spent some time to decide which XPression scenes should be played on which channels. If they have, they most likely don’t want to the newsroom team to change the channel or layer assignments in the XPression MOS Editor. The XPression Administrator can now configure settings on the XPression Gateway, which protect the newsroom users from changing the channel assignments in the XPression MOS Editor. Don’t worry, this is an optional setting, and if you spend a few minutes watching this video, you can learn how to over-ride that setting, too.

MOS 126 - Displaying ＜None＞ or Leaving the Field Blank in the XPression MOS workflow

When a newsroom user doesn’t change the content of a replaceable asset field, XPression displays in that field, to indicate no content has been added. There is now a setting in the XPression Gateway which can remove and just leave the field empty. This is a global choice at the facility and configured by whoever is administrating the XPression Gateway for the MOS workflow users. Watch this video and see how it should be set for your facility.
